Beyond The Mask, Through The Lens - 100 Pandemic Portraits

Dear Visitor,

I have been working on for some time now, a project to shoot the portraits of 100 people which are available to view in the 100 People gallery.

In March 2020, with 53 of the 100 portraits taken, my project was suspended due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

So, in late October 2020 I decided to restart the project shooting portraits in a way that would acknowledge the historical and cultural changes caused by the pandemic and began to look for people who were willing to take part.

The Covid-19 portrait images focus on the diversity of the masks that none of us ever dreamt we would have to wear, with people standing on their doorsteps, in their gardens, favourite places or business premises.

To accompany their portrait each person was asked to provide a few sentences capturing their personal thoughts and feelings about the pandemic.

The gallery and book provides a unique, poignant insight of the impact of Covid-19 through the eyes of friends, former colleagues and my local community here in Morpeth, Northumberland.

The launch date for this book, 8th December 2021, has been chosen deliberately, the one year anniversary of the first UK Covid-19 vaccination, a vaccination programme that has created so much hope for so many.

A5 soft cover copies of the book are available, please contact me direct via the Contact page of the website for further information.

An eBook and paperback format of the book is available to order from the Amazon Kindle store
